So this is my first blog.. and first post..
I heard about blogs but I never got the courage to try one out for myself.. Until now that is!!
I am a young woman living in Aruba. Where the weather is always sunny and hot, so its always beach day!
I've just now started to make cakes and cupcakes. I bake from home and attend classes at night.
I mostly learned from my self, but having a few bakers in the family makes it easy to get tools and tips on how to improve.
The 2 most asked for cakes that i get are my red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and some x-rated cakes for bachelor's and bachelorette's party. A few of the times people order it just for the fun of it (as a gag gift).
I want to start sharing the newly trend on having cupcakes at weddings and parties instead of the old traditional cakes. Although they are nice, elegant, fun and great to look at, cupcakes are more practical. Cupcakes can be taken home or eaten more easily than an ordinary cake. There is no hassles with spoons to eat cake or plates to put them in or even a knife to cut the cake with.
Nowadays cupcakes can be made with designs on top to be nice, elegant, fun and great to look at.
But here on the island people are still afraid of change. They are willing to try new technology, but when it comes to traditional stuff they tend to stick to it like hard on glue.
So, little by little... one party at a time, I will be trying to change things up on this little tiny island.
